IBM Quantum Experience

·       Name;

·       Email address;

·       Institution or Business affiliation;

·       User ID from 3rd party (if logging in via 3rd party e.g., with a Google, LinkedIn, Twitter, or Github account), if not using IBMid;

·       Information User may choose to provide about User’s background and experience in quantum research and technology with quantum computing and the purpose of User’s use of IBM Quantum (optional);

·       IP address; and

·       Personal data related to User’s use of IBM Quantum and support tools, collected through tracking and other technologies (such as cookies).

·       To validate User’s eligibility to use the IBM Quantum Experience;

·       To allow User and IBM to keep track of User’s use of the IBM Quantum Experience;

·       For aggregate statistics and collection of metadata and information about the IBM Quantum Experience usage and the effectiveness of the IBM Quantum Experience;

·       For the purpose of improving user experience and/or tailoring interactions with User;

·       To provide support and respond to requests by User;

·       To email User surveys (opt-in);

·       To email User newsletters, event invitations, and send marketing information (opt-in);

·       To allow User to participate in public or multi-person forums, (at User’s opt-in); and

·       To maintain User’s sign-in state over sessions and to be able to understand and customize User’s experience on the website.

Personal data will be deleted following:

(i)    Request of User via the User's IBM Quantum account page (except that personal data may retained in order to comply with government regulations, as required by such regulations, and for short term backup purposes); OR

(ii)   For inactive users, after 5 years.

IBM Quantum Experience for Researchers program

Same as for the IBM Quantum Experience, and

·       Participant’s profile information as created by Participant, by providing some or all of the information in the pre-configured profile menu, such as Participant’s name, title, affiliation, URL to Participant’s website or URL to Participant’s public profile on other websites, short biographic statement, and links to Participant’s published paper.

Same as for the IBM Quantum Experience, and

·       To validate Participant or applicant’s eligibility to participate in the IBM Quantum Experience for Researchers;

·       To provide letters of support, as requested by Participant; and

·       To include Participant’s public profile information in a searchable format (opt-in).

Same as for the IBM Quantum Experience.

IBM Quantum Contest programs

Same as for the IBM Quantum Experience, and

In the event that a Participant is selected as a winner or finalist, then the following personal data will be collected:

·       Payment instructions that may include bank account data (optional);

·       Personal photo; and

·       Resume/CV.

Same as for the IBM Quantum Experience, and

·       Publicize the winner or finalist and their work;

·       Potential recruitment by IBM;

·       Reimburse event & travel expenses; and

·       Process payment of awards.

Personal data will be deleted one year following the conclusion of the program, except that: (i) personal data may retained in order to comply with government regulations, as required by such regulations; and (ii) IBM will delete payment related data after being used for its intended purpose.

IBM Quantum and Qiskit events

When a Participant registers for an event, personal data relevant to operating the event is collected:

·       Name;

·       Email address;

·       Institution or Business affiliation;

·       Student status;

·       Job title;

·       Job address;

·       Country of residence and country of citizenship;

·       Emergency contact information (optional);

·       Dietary restrictions (optional); and

·       Preferred pronoun (optional).

Event participation may also require IBM Quantum Experience registration, based on the nature of the event, and in such case, personal data as listed under the IBM Quantum Experience details apply.

·       Communicate with Participants about the event;

·       Verify eligibility to Participate or receive certain benefits;

·       Perform surveys; and

·       Communicate with Participants about future events.

Personal data related to events will be deleted following:

(i)    Written request to an event organizer (except that personal data may retained in order to comply with government regulations, as required by such regulations); OR

(ii)   Deletion of IBM Quantum account; OR

(iii)  Within 5 years of attending an event.

IBM Quantum Sponsor User program

As part of the program, the following will be collected:

·       Contact information (e.g., Name, Email, Job title);

·       Institution or Business affiliation;

·       Participant image and voice, e.g., by recording a video interview (optional); and

·       Participant’s personal information if provided in the answers, including related to participant’s background, tasks associated with participant’s job as well as participant’s opinion, experience, comments and suggestions regarding the use of IBM products and offerings.

Participation may also require IBM Quantum Experience registration, and in such case, personal data as listed under the IBM Quantum Experience details apply.

·       For internal research, coordination, and communication purposes; and

·       To develop or improve IBM products, offerings and programs.

Personal data in the program will be deleted following:

(i)    24 months; OR

(ii)   Written request of participant to the Program Coordinator (except that personal data may retained in order to comply with government regulations, as required by such regulations).

IBM Quantum Experience access under a Governing Contract between IBM and IBM Quantum Client

Same as for the IBM Quantum Experience.

Same as for the IBM Quantum Experience, and

·       To perform duties permitted under the scope of the Governing Contract.

Same as for the IBM Quantum Experience, except that personal data may also be deleted following request of IBM Quantum Client or as specified in the Governing Contract (however personal data may retained in order to comply with government regulations, as required by such regulations, and for short term backup purposes).

IBM Quantum survey program

·       Contact information (e.g., Name, Email, Job title (optional); and

·       Institution or Business affiliation (optional).

·       To communicate with Participants about their answers;

·       To invite Participants to participate in future surveys (opt-in); and

·       To improve IBM Quantum products, offers and programs.

Same as for the IBM Quantum Experience, when IBM administers the survey,

When a survey is hosted by a 3rd party, then the privacy policy and terms of use of that 3rd party may also apply.

Qiskit Advocates program

Same as for the IBM Quantum Experience, and

·       Open source contribution history;

·       City and country of residence;

·       User IDs from 3rd party website (e.g. Slack);

·       URL to Participant’s github profile;

·       Program test results;

·       Address (optional);

·       Personal photo (optional);

·       Preferred pronoun (optional);

·       Age

Same as for the IBM Quantum Experience, and

·       To communicate with Participants about the program

·       Verify eligibility to participate or receive certain benefits;

·       Perform surveys related to the program;

·       Communicate with Participants about future events;

·       To mail packages (opt-in);

·       To showcase achievements on IBM Quantum and Qiskit webpages (opt-in)

Personal data in the program will be deleted following:

(i)    Written request to a program organizer (except that personal data may retained in order to comply with government regulations, as required by such regulations, and for short term backup purposes); OR

(ii)   Deletion of IBM Quantum account; OR

(iii)  For inactive program participants, after 1 year.
