User account

Overview

Access to IBM Quantum is controlled by a user account. This account is uniquely tied to the login credentials used to access IBM Quantum. The user account performs two essential functions. First, an account is associated with one or more instances that give access to the various services provided by IBM Quantum. Second, a unique token is assigned to each account, allowing for IBM Quantum access from Qiskit.

You can view your account information after you log in by clicking Account settings in the account menu ( account ). The following information is shown on the Account settings page:

Account overview

View and edit general account information, such as your email address, type of account, and password. To change any of this information, click Edit button image..

Copy or regenerate your API token here. You will also come here if you ever need to delete your account.

If you do choose to delete your account, this cannot be undone, and all data are permanently removed.

Keep your API token secure

Your unique API token provides access to your data, so treat it as you would any password and keep it secure.
